The day starts early with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a full-day safari in Bardia National Park. Known for its diverse wildlife, Bardia is home to endangered species such as the Royal Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, and over 400 species of birds.
Your jungle safari will likely include a combination of jeep safaris and walking tours, led by an experienced guide. These safaris offer a unique opportunity to spot tigers, rhinos, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. You’ll travel through dense sal forests, open grasslands, and along riverbanks where wildlife frequently gather. In addition to large mammals, you might see exotic birds like the Great Hornbill, Bengal florican, or Sarus crane.
A visit to the crocodile breeding center and the Tharu museum is often included in the itinerary. You’ll also get to walk along the banks of the Karnali River, where you might spot gharial crocodiles or Gangetic dolphins if you’re lucky. After a full day of wildlife exploration, return to your lodge in the evening for a relaxing dinner and a recap of the day’s sightings.
